Students learn about origins, history of organized crime during Italy trip

Films like “The Godfather” and “Goodfellas” have created indelible stereotypes about those involved in organized crime. This summer, 19 Penn State students learned the real history behind the Mafia during “Organized Crime in Film and Society,“ a three-week course taught on site in different locations in Palermo and Rome, Italy.

Lehigh Valley art students collaborate on chalk mandala project

Penn State Lehigh Valley students in Associate Teaching Professor of Arts Administration Elizabeth Flaherty’s Intersections Between Art and Psychology course collaborated on a chalk mandala created on the campus grounds. The initiative was led by student Angi Sayid for her final research project.

Former federal agent to guide Lehigh Valley’s new Criminal Justice program

After serving as a full-time lecturer at Penn State Berks for the past six years, Debra Dreisbach was recently hired to be the program coordinator for Penn State Lehigh Valley's new Criminal Justice program. Prior to her career in academia, Dreisbach spent 25 years in federal law enforcement, serving as a special agent with the Office of Inspector General, FBI and Secret Service.
